COâ‚‚ Emissions and Sustainable Delivery
At DOUXE we aim for the lowest possible COâ‚‚ emissions when delivering your orders. On this page you can read which delivery options are the most sustainable, what our approach is and how you can make a difference yourself.
1. Which delivery option has the lowest COâ‚‚ emissions?
| 1. Collection from the concept store | Lowest | Â No last-mile delivery. You collect your order yourself; no extra delivery van drives out for you. |
| 2. Standard delivery (next working day or later) | Medium | Your parcel is bundled with other orders in your area, so the emissions per parcel stay low. |
| 3. Express delivery / same day | Higher | A separate, individual trip made specifically for your parcel. Less efficient bundling possible. |
Â
2. COâ‚‚ from your own transport not included
The CO₂ figures in the table above relate only to our part of the logistics process: the transport from our warehouse to your address or our store. The transport you make yourself as a consumer to collect an order — for example by car — is not included. For the lowest total CO₂ footprint, we advise you to visit our concept store by bike, on foot or by public transport.
3. How can you contribute yourself?
- Choose to collect in store and come by bike or on foot. This is by far the most sustainable choice.
- Be at home at the time of delivery. A failed delivery leads to an extra trip — and therefore extra CO₂ emissions. Change the delivery time via track & trace if you are not at home.
- Choose standard delivery over express delivery if your order is not urgent. Bundled delivery is more efficient.
- Order everything at once instead of in partial deliveries. That way only one delivery van drives out for your order.
- Visit our showroom beforehand to avoid any doubt — every return prevented saves an extra delivery trip.
4. What does DOUXE do to reduce COâ‚‚ emissions?
We are continually working to make our delivery process more sustainable:
- Two collection points — concept stores in Scheveningen and Amsterdam, so you always have a central location nearby.
- Cooperation with sustainable logistics partners — PostNL, DHL, UPS and FedEx are actively investing in electric vehicles and more efficient delivery routes.
- Bundling of orders — DOUXE chooses to deliver all products in a single shipment, so that the number of delivery trips is kept down.
- Research into more sustainable carriers — we are actively looking for carriers with a lower CO₂ profile, including electric delivery and cycle couriers in urban areas.
- More sustainable packaging — compact boxes and reusable or biodegradable packaging material reduce the volume per parcel.
 5. Collection from the concept store
You can collect your order free of charge in our concept stores. This is the most sustainable delivery option.
- Amsterdam — Oostenburgermiddenstraat 126, 1018 LL Amsterdam | Wednesday to Saturday, 10:00–18:00
- The Hague — Hellingweg 96D, 2583 WH Den Haag | Monday to Saturday, 10:00–18:00Â
Sustainability tip
Come to our store by bike or on foot. That way your total COâ‚‚ emissions for this order are practically zero.
Return sustainably
Returns have an impact on the environment because they cause extra transport. You can make a difference:
- Take your return parcel to the drop-off point on foot or by bike. This avoids an extra car journey and limits the COâ‚‚ emissions of your return.
- Choose a drop-off point nearby. That way several returns are collected together by the carrier, which is more efficient than individual collection trips.
- Reuse the original packaging. The box or bag your order arrived in is perfectly suited as return packaging.
- Not sure about the size or the product? Visit our concept store in Scheveningen or Amsterdam for personal advice — that way you avoid a return.
